Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Ensures No Indonesian Citizens Become Victims Of Bangladesh Earthquake

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ensured that no Indonesian citizens were victims of the earthquake that hit Bangladesh yesterday and today.

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale rocked Bangladesh on Friday (21/11). The epicenter was in Ghorashal, Narsingdi district, about 25 to 33 kilometers from Dhaka with a depth of 10 kilometers.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement Saturday night said that aftershocks had occurred twice today on two separate occasions.

The first aftershock occurred at 10:36 a.m. local time, not far from yesterday's epicenter of the earthquake. The second aftershock occurred at 18:10 p.m. local time with the epicenter approaching the Dhaka Center.

"Until now, all Indonesian citizens in Bangladesh are safe and safe," explained the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saturday (22/11).

"There are reports that one of the Indonesian citizens' houses experienced a crack. The Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka was not damaged by the earthquake," added the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
