Gulf Countries Agree To Develop Arabic AI For Education
JAKARTA - Countries that are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have agreed on the development of artificial intelligence (AI) for educational purposes.
This agreement was reached at the 24th meeting of the E-Learning Official Committee in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries held by the National Center for e-Learning Saudi Arabia on November 6.
This meeting aims to strengthen Gulf cooperation in developing e-learning, and encourage exchange of expertise in digital transformation and education AI.
This supports the efforts of GCC countries in developing an innovative education system that is in line with future demands.
The meeting discussed key topics, especially strategic trends in AI, its governance in education, and its practical application in developing a learning environment.
The committee approved final recommendations regarding the adoption of AI proposed by the National Center for e-Learning as a reference model in line with the committee's strategy, quoted from Arab News November 15.
Development of the unified Gulf language model to contribute to online learning systems and AI in higher education is also proposed in this meeting.
The meeting was attended by directors of education at GCC, deans and e-learning officials from higher education institutions across the GCC country, as well as a number of experts in digital education and artificial intelligence.

The participants reviewed the experiences of Saudi Arabia and Teluk universities, as well as discussed the framework of regulations and policies that encourage the use of modern technology that is responsible for education.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of the Gulf' ongoing joint action to offset global developments and rapid changes in online learning.
