Alexander Zwiers Reveals Nova Arianto's Target In The U-20 Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - PSSI's Technical Director (Dirtek), Alexander's Zwiers, revealed the target set for Nova Arianto who is now handling the U-20 Indonesian national team.

Nova Arianto's status, who is now handling the U-20 Indonesian national team, was officially announced by PSSI on Thursday, November 20, 2025. He is believed to have leveled up after successfully guarding the U-17 Indonesian national team at the 2025 U-17 World Cup.

Zwiers, who was also present at the inauguration of Nova Arianto's new assignment, said he was happy with the performance of the coach. He also praised Nova, who had served as a former assistant coach of the senior Indonesian national team.

"This is a great moment, happy, and proud to have Nova in the U-20 Indonesian national team to prepare for the next generation. Nova is a great person with great leadership to form a sustainable local player," Alexander Zwiers was quoted as saying Friday, November 21, 2025.

Behind Nova Arianto's new assignment, Zwiers then revealed the target of the coach with the U-20 Indonesian national team, namely to qualify for the last eight of the 2027 U-20 Asian Cup.

"Nova has worked well at the 2025 World Cup (U-17). I am enthusiastic about working with him to advance to (Indonesian National Team) U-20 to qualify for the U-20 Asian Cup (2027) as the last eight in Asia," said Zwiers.

Nova Arianto's journey with the U-20 Indonesian national team to the 2027 U-20 Asian Cup will start from the qualifying round which will take place from August to September 2026. The 2027 U-20 Asian Cup finals are planned to be held from March 24 to April 10, 2027.
