GJAW 2025 Exhibition Officially Begins Today, Gaikindo Targets Sales Momentum

JAKARTA - The 2025 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) Exhibition is officially open today and will last until November 30.

Taking place at ICE BSD, the biggest exhibition later this year was opened directly by the Director General (Dirjen) of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Setia Diarta.

According to him, the automotive sector is one of the pillars of the growth of the domestic industry.

"Continue to show positive growth (the automotive sector) with non-oil and gas processing performance reaching 5.5 percent year on year growth, higher than economic growth which reached 5.04 percent," he said, during a press conference, Friday, November 21.

He further said that the driving factor for the sector (growth) was one of the investments in electric vehicles which reached Rp. 5.7 trillion, which included electric buses, electric cars, and electric two-wheeled vehicles.

On the same occasion, General Chairperson of Gaikindo Putu Juli Ardika, said that the GJAW 2025 exhibition had experienced many significant developments since 2022. In fact, this year's increase in area is very significant.

"This year there are 80 participants consisting of 33 passenger vehicles, 10 motorcycle brands and two caroseri," said Putu.

This exhibition is indeed a manufacturing sharing stage to showcase new innovations, and is also expected to boost sales of motorized vehicles by the end of the year.

"We hope that the various programs presented will create a massive sales momentum as well as be an important driver for industrial achievement towards the end of the year," he concluded.
