The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Has Handed Over The Google Cloud Case To The Attorney General's Office Through The Exposure Forum
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the decision to delegate the investigation into alleged corruption in the procurement of Google Cloud at the Ministry of Education and Culture was taken in an exposure forum or case title.
Acting (Plt) Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu initially explained that his agency had previously investigated allegations of corruption in the procurement of Chromebooks and Google Clouds.
"It was almost finished at that time," Asep told reporters quoted on Friday, November 21.
Asep said that the KPK did not know that the Attorney General's Office was also investigating the same corruption allegations. They only found out after an investigation warrant (sprindik) was issued.
As for this case, the Attorney General's Office then named the former Minister of Education and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim or Nadiem Makarim along with a number of parties as suspects.
"It turns out that the Prosecutor's Office published a sprindik related to the handling of Chromebooks. So, we are subject to Article 50 (KPK Law, ed). So there are already rules like that, we, yes, submit them. Please the Prosecutor's Office to handle the Chromebook case," he said.

Despite submitting the investigation into the alleged corruption in Chromebooks, the KPK is still investigating allegations of Google Cloud corruption. In fact, investigators have summoned Nadiem Makarim.
However, recently the KPK leadership decided to delegate this case to the Attorney General's Office. This is because the procurement of the two projects actually intersects.
"So it cannot be separated. The ministry that organizes the procurement is the same even though the budget is different," explained Asep.
"And we also see that there are some or people involved in the procurement as well, namely NM brothers and others like that. So, of course, for effectiveness in handling cases, yes, the leadership stated, yes, in this expos and this is exposure, ..., we decided that the Google Cloud case was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office," continued Asep, who also serves as Director of KPK Investigation.
Asep ensured that this delegation was intended so that the handling of alleged corruption in the procurement of Chromebooks and Google Cloud could be more comprehensive. Moreover, the KPK and the Attorney General's Office have never competed so far.
"We consider competition, no. But in this case in the context of synergy."
