Complete Results Of 2026 World Cup Qualification Playoff Draw
JAKARTA - FIFA has drawn the 2026 World Cup Qualification playoffs at their headquarters, Zurich, Switzerland, on Thursday, November 20, 2025, evening.
Melanie Winiger's draw was carried out and led by the Chief Tournament Officer of the 2026 World Cup from the United States, Bindia Zubasiha, along with Christian Karembeu, Marco Materazzi, and Martin Dahlin as assistants.
There are two playoffs that are fighting for the remaining six tickets to the 2026 World Cup. One playoffs is a battle of representatives of five confederations, namely AFC, CAF, Conmebol, OFC, and Concacaf. While the other is the UEFA playoffs.
In the UEFA zone playoffs, four tickets will be hunted down by 16 teams that will compete with the single match system. A similar system is used in the interconfederation playoffs containing six teams.
Interconfederation playoffs have two brackets. Each contains two teams competing in the semifinals and the rest one team is already waiting in the final.

Countries waiting in the final are calculated based on the FIFA rankings in which the Democratic Republics of Congo and Iraq are ranked higher than the other four teams. As a result, the two countries immediately waited for the semifinal winner.
The AFC was represented by Iraq, then there are the Democratic Republic of Congo (CAF), Jamaica and Suriname (Concacaf), Bolivia (Conmebol), and New Caledonia (OFC).
The intercontinental playoffs will take place in March 2026, during the FIFA Matchday period which runs from 23 to 31 March 2026.
On November 19, 2025, it was confirmed that Guadalajara and Monterrey had been selected as the cities hosting the interconfederation playoffs.
While in the UEFA zone playoffs, 16 teams were divided into four brackets in a similar format. Four teams fought in the semifinals then fought for one ticket in the final of each bracket.
The UEFA zone playoffs will take place on March 26, 2026 for the semifinals and March 31, 2026 for the finals of each bracket.
The two winners of the intercontinental playoffs together with four UEFA zone playoffs winners, will join 42 countries that have been confirmed to have a place in the 2026 World Cup.
