The large number of athletes deployed by Thailand locked their chances of becoming overall champions. The rest behind them followed the Philippines and Malaysia, which sent over a thousand athletes as well.
Erick said that he had also asked all sports that had left for the White Elephant Country to contribute medals for Indonesia.
"We are also serious that this event will become an evaluation material for the promotion and relegation system. If the sport is not on target, it will enter (financing) independently," he said.
The 2025 SEA Games will be held on 9-20 December. In total there are 51 sports and 574 match numbers that will be contested at the prestigious sporting event.
Indonesia has set a target to finish in third place in the final standings for medals. The target repeats the achievement of the previous edition in Cambodia in 2023.
