Reza emphasized that the film "Pangku" is a manifestation of his deep gratitude.
"And for me this film is a form of my gratitude to the strength of the great women out there who continue to struggle in the midst of existing limitations," he continued.
Not only as a form of appreciation, Reza's speech also contained a strong social message. He voiced his hopes for the younger generation and policy makers to no longer be a barrier for women in accessing education, which is the fundamental right of each individual.
"And make it again, for little Bayu-Bayu out there and policy makers, hopefully you are people who no longer restrict them from going to school and getting the right to education," Reza exclaimed.
Before closing his speech, he did not forget to thank all parties involved in the success of the film, ranging from the crew, players, the jury, to all Indonesian film people.
As a sweet and personal cover, Reza again paid his highest respect to his mother, a figure he called his good luck charm.
"And for my lucky charm, Mom, I love you so much," he concluded.
