Bring Home The AMI Awards First Cup, The Lantis Wants To Win Again Next Year

JAKARTA - The Lantis won their first victory at the 2025 Indonesian Music Awards (AMI) which was held at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta on Wednesday, November 19 night.

The group consisting of Giri (bass, vocals), Ravi (guitar, vocals), and Ojan (guitar) brought home the trophy through the 'Bunga Sorry' which became the mainstay single of the EP of the same name in 2024' in the category of Best Duo/Group Pop.

In this case, The Lantis excels from the Senja Boundary (We Try Again), Juicy Luicy (Malapetaka), Maliq & D'Essentials (Kumpul Boy), RAN (Secret #1), and Wijaya 80 (Last Time).

The maximum happiness is felt not only by the personnel, but also the musicians of the session and team from Warner Music Indonesia, the music label that houses The Lantis.

When receiving the trophy, even two session players who incidentally were not award recipients came on stage.

"There is a funny story too, when we want to go out in the future (stage) the three of us, right? If you happen to bring our two session players, they might be happy too, so please follow us, follow the way forward (to accept the trophy)," Ravi said after receiving the award.

With AMI's first win won by The Lantis, Ravi stated that there was a new passion, to continue working and be able to bring home the winning trophy.

"From us personally, this (victory) will definitely make us more enthusiastic to keep on going, (to be able to) win again, if possible next year," added Ravi.

Furthermore, Giri stated that he presented the first AMI Awards to his late grandfather, who had become the main inspiration for The Lantis.

"If it's for me and Ravi, we dedicate (this victory) to our late grandfather," said Giri. 'Fun fact, The Lantis is named after my grandfather and Ravi, his name is Ahmad Lanti.'

"And fun fact again, the song Lampu Merah, was actually written with the inspiration of our grandfather. So it's like, yes, this victory is dedicated to Ahmad Lanti's grandfather," he concluded.
