APPI's Attitude On TIP Involving Young Footballers From Bandung: Ready To Work On Repatriation

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Professional Footballers Association (APPI) has taken a quick stance regarding the alleged Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) involving a young footballer from Bandung, Rizki Nur Fadilah.

APPI will seek Rizki's return, who is said to be a victim of human trafficking to Cambodia. Rizki, a footballer from Dayeuhkolot, Bandung Regency, was reportedly promised to undergo a selection with PSMS Medan, but was instead taken to Cambodia.

Through the news circulating, Rizki was picked up from Jakarta to Medan. However, from Medan he was even taken to Malaysia, then delivered to Cambodia.

"APPI has communicated with Rizki's family and is ready to help Rizki's return to Indonesia."

"APPI as a representative forum for footballers in Indonesia asks that this is also an urgency for the Government, security forces, and other parties authorized to seek immediate repatriation by prioritizing Rizki's safety," wrote the official statement. APPI quoted Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

For this reason, APPI urges the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, especially the Indonesian Embassy in Cambodia, to actively facilitate Rizki's repatriation process, as well as provide consular assistance so that his rights are protected.

"This case is not just an individual matter, but a warning to all parties for the protection of young players and vigilance against fraudulent modes under the guise of football."

"APPI stands with Rizki's family and urges the government and officials to take swift and decisive action," said APPI President Andritany Ardhiyasa.
