South Jakarta Police Investigates Al-Quran Burning Case
JAKARTA - South Jakarta Metro Police is investigating a case of alleged arson of the Al-Quran that went viral after being uploaded on social media Instagram.
"Under investigation", said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Azis Andriansyah as quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 23.
According to him, police have examined the woman suspected of arson. The woman claimed she was not the one who uploaded or burned the Al-Quran.
He explained, from the alleged perpetrator's confession, his name was painted by the Instagram account @farhanah_santoso_245. "The account name has been checked, but the name is used by people", Azis said.

Earlier, an act of burning the Quran uploaded by @farhanah_santoso_245 Instagram account went viral on social media.
From the video, the fire burned half of the Al-Quran and there are also inappropriate words written on the pages of the holy book.
Several other Instagram accounts reacted by sharing screenshots of the burn and reshared the content.
There is also a photo of the ID card of a woman with an address in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, who is suspected of owning a @farhanah_santoso_245 account.
