EAST LOMBOK - A bridge connecting Perigi and Puncak Jeringo Villages in Suele District, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), collapsed after heavy rains fell on Wednesday, November 19.

Head of Aik Bete Hamlet, Maisir, said the Aik Bete bridge collapsed due to flooding with heavy river currents. Luckily there were no casualties because at the time of the incident the bridge was quiet and no motorists passed by.

The Aik Bete Bridge collapsed in the flood after it rained this afternoon. Indeed, the condition of the bridge has been damaged but collapsed now," said Maisir in East Lombok, Antara, Wednesday, November 19.

Residents have repeatedly reported damage to bridges to the village government to be forwarded to the government at a higher level. But so far there has been no follow-up.

Previously, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded the potential for tidal flooding in a number of areas around NTB waters on November 19, 2025. This condition was triggered by a new moon phase that increased the potential for maximum tides.

"We urge residents to be alert and alert to the impact of the maximum tide," said Head of the NTB BMKG Meteorological Station, Satria Topan Primadi, in Mataram.
