DKI Provincial Government First Champion Of Indonesia's SDGs Action Awards 2025
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government won the First Best title for the Provincial Regional Government category in the 2025 SDGs Action Awards.
In this national assessment, Jakarta occupies the top position, ahead of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government in second place and Yogyakarta DIY in third place.
This predicate is an acknowledgment of the consistency of the DKI Provincial Government in accelerating the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative policies and programs that touch the basic needs of residents.
"We express our gratitude to all ranks, partners, and the people of Jakarta who continue to support collaborative steps to build Jakarta more advanced and competitive," said Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno at the Main Building of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, November 19.
Rano emphasized that the various flagship programs of the DKI Provincial Government were prepared in line with central government policies, especially the priority of the 2025-2029 RPJMN which focuses on improving the quality of human resources.
One of the strategic programs that is considered to have a significant effect is Free Nutrition Food (MBG), which ensures that school children, toddlers, students, and pregnant and lactating women get sufficient access to nutrition.
In the field, this program is also combined with a number of other nutritional interventions that have been running at the city level to the village level. Rano said, integration between programs is the key to building a sustainable public health foundation.
Furthermore, the DKI Provincial Government has also formed an SDGs Coordination Team led by Governor Pramono Anung and coordinated by the Head of Bappeda. This structure involves regional apparatus, academics, the private sector, the media, community organizations to philanthropy, so that the approach implemented is not sectoral.
Until 2024, Jakarta has met 77 out of 118 SDGs indicators. One of the biggest contributors is the food security policy through subsidized food targeting vulnerable groups. Data from the 2024 BPS Susenas shows that this group still allocates 30 45 percent of its income for food needs.
Subsidized Food Becomes Supporting Nutrition Security
As the basis of the policy, the Provincial Government has issued Governor Regulation Number 28 of 2022 concerning Subsidized Cheap Food. Through this regulation, the price of essential food packages can be maintained at around IDR 126,000 from 2017 to 2025, or around 40 50 percent cheaper than the market price.
"This program is also the DKI Provincial Government's strategy to reduce stunting and malnutrition in Jakarta," said Rano.
In 2025, subsidized food beneficiaries will reach 992,497 people. The largest group is KJP Plus recipients, namely 671,573 people, followed by 154,175 elderly people. There are a total of nine recipient categories ranging from people with disabilities, low income workers, flat residents, non-civil servant teachers, to PKK cadres. Data collection is carried out with DKPKP and Bank Jakarta.
This subsidized food program is also integrated with MBG so as to form a nutritional protection ecosystem from schools to families.
