Nurhadi Was Charged With Washing Rp308 Billion: Luxury Assets, Palm Oil, To Villa In Bogor Revealed

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) for the 2011-2016 period, Nurhadi, was charged with money laundering (TPPU) with a total value of Rp308.1 billion. This indictment relates to the alleged receipt of gratuities within the Supreme Court in the 2013 period. 2019 and money laundering actions carried out throughout 2012' 2018.

The public prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Rony Yusuf, revealed that Nurhadi placed funds in accounts in the names of other people, spent them to buy land and buildings, and paid for a number of vehicles.

"With the aim of hiding or disguising the origins of his wealth, which is the result of a criminal act of corruption related to Nurhadi's position as Secretary of the Supreme Court," said Rony in reading the indictment at the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta District Court, Antara, Tuesday, October 18.

In addition to money laundering offenses, Nurhadi was also charged with receiving gratuities worth Rp. 137.16 billion from litigants in court, both while still in office and after no longer serving as Secretary of the Supreme Court.

For his actions, Nurhadi was charged with Article 12B in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001, and Article 3 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering jo. Article 65 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

The prosecutor detailed the value of Nurhadi's TPPU consisting of Rp307.26 billion and US$50,000 or equivalent to Rp835 million. The funds are placed in accounts of various parties, namely Rezky Herbiyono, Calvin Pratama, Soepriyo Waskita Adi, Yoga Dwi Hartiar, CV Herbiyono Indo Perkasa, and PT Herbiyono Energi Industri.

Of this figure, as much as Rp138.54 billion was spent on the purchase of land and buildings, including a number of oil palm plantations in North Sumatra; three apartment units and one plot of land along with buildings in Jakarta; a plot of land in Sidoarjo, East Java; as well as the construction of villas in Bogor, West Java.

Meanwhile, the purchase of vehicles worth Rp6.22 billion was made, among others, by purchasing a Mercedes Benz Microbus Sprinter unit on behalf of Ferdian and a Hitachi brand excavator unit.

“Penghasilan resmi Nurhadi tidak sebanding dengan harta kekayaan yang dimiliki, sehingga asal-usul perolehannya tidak dapat dipertanggungjawabkan secara sah dan menyimpang dari profil penghasilan terdakwa,” kata JPU.

Nurhadi's official income is not comparable to his assets, so his origins cannot be legally accounted for and deviate from the defendant's income profile, "said the prosecutor.
