269 Cibeunying Cilacap Landslide Families Will Be Relocated

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that as many as 269 families affected by landslides in Cibeunying Village, Majenang, Cilacap Regency, Central Java were included in the list of relocations or relocations.

Head of BNPB, Suharyanto said that relocation is no longer an option, but it is a must for residents in affected areas, so the preparation of relocation land is the first thing to pay attention to.

"The report I received, the relocation location already exists, and not far away, about 2.5 kilometers," Suhartyanto said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 18.

He reminded that the security of land where the relocation is relocated must be ensured to be safe, one of which is in accordance with the recommendations of the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

This is important following a written statement from the Geological Agency's analysis, the Cibeunying area is included in the medium ground movement forecast zone, according to location morphological data in the form of hills with sloping slopes.

Geologically, the soil in this area is weathered ground thick, brown, loose, and saturated with water with a thickness of more than 10 meters.

"So that the same incident does not repeat itself in a new location. BNPB is ready to build temporary housing as soon as possible after the relocation land affairs are completed from the local government," said Suharyanto.
