Oasis Pays Respect To Diego Maradona On A Tour To Argentina
JAKARTA - Oasis is back in the spotlight after paying tribute to world football legend Diego Maradona while taking their reunion tour to the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.
Meanwhile, Oasis opened their two-night concert at the Estadio M Wayos Monumental on November 16 evening. This moment was used by the Gallagher brothers to pay tribute to the icon of Argentine football who died in 2020 at the age of 60.
The peak of respect occurred when Oasis performed the song 'Live Forever'. Instantly, the big screen behind the stage emitted an iconic photo of Maradona.
After the song was over, Liam Gallagher took the microphone and dedicated the next song, 'Rock 'N' Roll Star', specifically to the legend.
This song is for Diego Maradona, Liam said to the tens of thousands of spectators who attended, triggering mass cheers.
Interestingly, long before this emotional moment, Oasis and Maradona had a dramatic history.
It is known, the World Cup winner once threatened to shoot Liam and Noel when they met at a bar in Argentina an incident that was thick with an unexpected 'rock n' roll aura.

In fact, earlier on the same day, Noel visited the former Maradona club, Boca Juniors, and captured the idol's statue.
After Maradona's death, Liam wrote a very personal tribute on Twitter reflecting his admiration for the figure of Maradona.
True Rock n Roll footballer, no one will ever approach him LG x, Liam wrote.
He also told of his meeting with Maradona: 'Meeting Maradona not only once but twice and he is a nasty deal that is real, scary but beautiful #blessed.'
Meanwhile, this time's respect is not the first. Since the reunion tour rolled out, Oasis has used their stage to remember the iconic figures who have passed away.
Previously, they respected Liverpool star Diogo Jota, who died in a 28-year-old car crash on the opening night of the tour at Cardiff. Then, they reminisced about Ozzy Osbourne in July, and boxer Ricky Hatton in September, where both names were also dedicated to the song "Live Forever".
After two shows in Argentina, Oasis is scheduled to end a series of reunion tours at the Santiago, Cili on November 19 as well as Srypto Paulo, Brazil on November 22 and 23.
