These two players appeared to dominate the men's tour calendar throughout 2025. They won a total of 14 titles, including the four Grand Slams.
Their competition peaked in June 2025 when Alcaraz bounced back from two sets and saved three championship points to win the Roland Garros trophy.
"It's been an incredible year for Jannik and now is the time to rest. I hope you're ready for next year because I'm ready too. Hopefully I can play in more finals," said Alcaraz.
His latest victory further extended Sinner's impressive record in the closing event of the season, namely having not lost since Novak Djokovic's overthrow in the 2023 final.
Sinner became the fourth player to successfully defend the title of the tournament in the century. He now joins Lleyton Hewitt, Roger Federer, and Djokovic.
