Eze Praises Tuchel And Arteta's Impact On Their Game

JAKARTA - Eberechi Eze equalized the intensity of Thomas Tuchel and Mikel Arteta. He praised the impact they had on his game.

The Arsenal striker came off the bench on Friday, November 14, 2025, early in the morning WIB, to add to England's victory over Serbia 2-0 with a fine finish from inside the penalty box.

It was Eze's third goal for his country and his second straight game in which he scored.

He has been a part of every England squad since the Tuchel era began in January 2025. Since his move to Arsenal in the summer, he has been an influential member of the Arteta team.

"Personally, I would only say the level of performance intensity and a step more advanced in the game, understanding the game differently."

"I feel it makes me see things better and clearer. Of course it will make me a better player (from) the way I think, from the way I operate."

"Both (Arteta and Tuchel) are very intense, both of them are very concerned about the details, which is one of the most important things."

"It helped me," said Eze, when asked what his two managers had added to his game.

Given the depth of the England squad, Eze found himself mostly limited to the role of the bench. The competition for a place is something he receives.

He said his mentality was no different either as a substitute or as a starting player.

"To be honest it's the same. (If) you have 30 minutes, you just take it, 90 minutes you take it. That's my job. That's my role."

"I want to go in and play as effectively as possible and help the team get better," he said.

When asked if he thought his goal against Serbia was a big moment with England, he tried to grounded.

"Not really. I feel like I'm just doing what I can in every game. Whenever I get the opportunity to score goals, provide assists, or create opportunities. That's what I try to do and I enjoy it," said the midfielder.

Meanwhile, competition for the tightest position in midfield, with Morgan Rogers and Jude Bellingham competing for the number 10 player position.

Despite being a star at Real Madrid, Bellingham was reserved against Serbia, while Rogers had the opportunity to play as a starter.

The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder came close to an hour of the game for a brilliant performance. He played an important role in Eze's goal at the end of the game.

"You guys have a team depth like us, England. Right now, you have to play well and Jude has played well for his club."

"This is his first practice since summer. He has come in and had a tremendous impact."

"However, I think we should give a thumbs up for Morgan. I think in the last few games he has shown an improvement in performance."

"I think the manager puts his trust in him even though he also has players like Jude and Phil (Foden) on the bench."

"We have many choices. It's about being a British team, staying united, having the togetherness we have, and continuing to move forward together," said goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
