President Prabowo Received The Visit Of The King Of Jordan At The Merdeka Palace
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto received a state visit from the King of the Kingdom of Jordan Hasyimiah Raja Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
Reported by ANTARA, the convoy of vehicles carrying King Abdullah II and President Prabowo, which also includes motorized escort troops and equestrian troops, arrived at the Merdeka Palace at 16.49 WIB.
Previously, President Prabowo directly welcomed the arrival of King Abdullah II at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Friday afternoon, at 16.05 WIB. The two then headed together to the Merdeka Palace in one vehicle.
The arrival of the two at the Merdeka Palace was welcomed by the ranks of honor and hundreds of elementary school (SD) students.
The students enthusiastically raised the Indonesian and Jordanian flags, which added to the lively atmosphere of welcoming the convoy of King Abdullah II vehicles.
At the west of the Merdeka Palace, President Prabowo, wearing a dark gray suit and a blue tie with King Abdullah II wearing a black suit and red tie, stepped down from the vehicle. The two leaders then stepped together to the pulpit of the official visit ceremony.
The welcoming ceremony begins with the singing of the national anthem of the two countries, namely the Jordan national anthem and then followed by the national anthem Indonesia Raya.
During the procession, the cannon booms 21 times accompanied it as a sign of honor for this official visit.
President Prabowo and King Abdullah II then carried out inspections of honorary troops who had lined up neatly in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace. The two leaders also greeted the enthusiastic elementary school students.
After that, an introductory session was held by delegates from the two countries before continuing the agenda inside the Merdeka Palace.
A number of ministers accompanying President Prabowo in the welcoming ceremony were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming who is also CEO of Danantara Indonesia Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
President Prabowo then invited King Abdullah II to enter the Credential Room to conduct a joint photo session and sign a state guest book as a symbol of friendship between the two countries.
Subsequently, the two of them held a meeting trypte-troomite or a one-on-one meeting in President Prabowo's office.
Prabowo is known to have visited Jordan on April 14, 2025, and met King Abdullah II at Al Husseiniya Palace, Amman, on the second day of his visit to the country.

During the visit, the two leaders witnessed the signing of three MoUs and a defense cooperation agreement between Indonesia and Jordan.
It is also known that President Prabowo has personally been in a long friendship with King Abdullah II since the two were young.
The King of Jordan and President Prabowo are alumni of the US Army prestigious ranger school Fort Benning. The two met for the first time on December 4, 1995 during Prabowo's inauguration as Commander General (Danjen) of Kopassus.
Their friendship continued when Prabowo left Indonesia in 1998 and self-isolating to Jordan. In Jordan, Prabowo's arrival at that time was welcomed with respect. In fact, Jordan once offered citizenship for Prabowo, but Prabowo still chose to be an Indonesian citizen.
