Minister Of Industry On Electric Motor Incentives: We Propose Back In 2026
JAKARTA - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita is still trying so that incentives for electric motors can be returned by the government.
It is known, the incentive program first launched in 2023 with a subsidy of IDR 7 million.
Agus said the proposal had been submitted since early 2025. However, until now there has been no certainty because the decision is at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.
He emphasized that the provision of electricity motor incentives is important because it has an impact on many other economic sectors.
"(Incentives) for electric motorcycles, right, I have conveyed it many times. We have proposed that since January 2025 and 2025 it is almost exhausted. So, when it comes to electric motorbikes that we consider important, prepare incentives or stimulus. Because a little bit he has a backward and power linkage, we consider that important," Agus said at the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) office, Jakarta, Thursday, November 13.
"Therefore, we propose that 2026 be re-submitted. But once again, the ball is not with us," he continued.
In addition, Agus said, his party is currently formulating a stimulus policy for the automotive sector. This will later be proposed to the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy.

According to Agus, the automotive sector is considered important because it contributes to employment.
"We hope that they (the automotive industry) will pay attention so that they have the protection of workers and the creation of new workers. It is important and there is special attention. At least there is a 2026 fiscal policy so that (growth) the automotive sector can be much faster," he explained.
