The Coordinating Ministry For Human Development And Culture Orders The Repair Of The Al-Khoziny Sidoarjo Islamic Boarding School Building To Be Accelerated

The Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment (Kemenko PM) has asked the Ministry of Public Works (Kemen PU) to accelerate the rebuilding of the Al-Koziny Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Sidoarjo, East Java, which collapsed some time ago.

Deputy for Coordination of Village Community Empowerment, Disadvantaged Regions, and Certain Regions of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture Abdul Haris said that acceleration needs to be done so that student learning activities return to normal immediately.

"This is our priority as well and according to the President's instructions through the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture so that it can immediately realize the renovation and reconstruction process," said Haris after directly inspecting the location of the Al-Khoziny Islamic Boarding School, Thursday, November 13.

According to him, the construction of the building collapsed until this daat made hundreds of students not yet have a proper place to study and rest. Most of them are temporarily accommodated in the homes of residents around the pesantren.

"Hopefully we, the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment, together with the relevant technical ministries, can accelerate this reconstruction process," said Haris.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of Public Works, Dewi Chomistriana, ensured that reconstruction preparations had entered the final stage and would begin this year.

He said the initial stage of development was focused on checking the legality of land and design adjustments to suit the needs of students.

"The reconstruction of the Al-Khoziny Islamic Boarding School building was carried out in a new location about 300 meters from the main complex. This building will replace the function of one of the collapsed pesantren buildings," said Dewi.

It is known that Coordinating Minister for Human Development Muhaimin Iskandar has formed a Task Force for the Arrangement of Islamic Boarding Schools, as a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto's direction. This task force is tasked with ensuring that all Islamic boarding school infrastructure is safe and feasible after the collapse of the Al-Khoziny Islamic Boarding School building.
