India Arrests 5 People Related To Car Explosion Near New Delhi's Red Fort

JAKARTA - India's security agency has detained a number of suspects in themen's territory in connection with the investigation into the deadly car explosion in New Delhi.

The explosion took place on Monday near the historic monument of the Red Fort in New Delhi, killing eight people and injuring several others.

As reported by AP, authorities announced on Tuesday that they were investigating as a possible terrorism.

The Red Fort, the main tourist attraction, is a monument to the 17th century and where Indian prime ministers deliver their Independence Day address on August 15 every year.

If confirmed to be a deliberate attack, this would be the deadliest explosion in the Indian capital since 2011.

Five people were reportedly detained for questioning in a series of raids overnight in the Pulwama district, the southern airquake, police officials said on Wednesday, November 12.
