Venezuela Deploys Massive Military Personnel To Response US Troops In The Caribbean

JAKARTA - Venezuela will carry out a "large" mobilization of military personnel, weapons, and equipment in response to the increasing strength of warships and US troops in the Caribbean Sea.

Reported by CNN, Wednesday, November 12, ground, air, sea and reserve forces will carry out exercises until Wednesday, according to Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino L waypez.

He stressed that the deployment was a response to the "imperialist threat" posed by increasing US powers.

In addition to regular military units, this exercise will involve the Bolivarian Militia reserve forces consisting of civilians formed by the late President Hugo Chryptvez and named after Simon Bolivar, the revolutionary figure who secures the independence of many Latin American countries from Spain.

Padrino L waypez, who linked the order directly with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, said the purpose of the drill was to optimize command, control, and communications and ensure national defense.

The move comes amid rising tensions between the two countries as US powers continue to rise. On Tuesday, the US Navy announced the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford America's largest warship has arrived in the US Southern Command operating area, which includes most Latin Americas.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered Ford carriers to sail to the Caribbean from Europe late last month.

The strike group escorting Ford's aircraft carriers carried nine air squadrons, two Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Bainbridge and the USS Mahan Air Defense and integrated missile command ship USS Winston S. Churchill, and more than 4,000 sailors.

The US has stated an increase in force in the region aimed at fighting drug trafficking and drug flow to the United States, and has carried out attacks on a number of vessels suspected of being drug carriers in recent weeks.
