Encourages TGPF Formation To Investigate Kwitang Cases, DPR Is Considered To Show Empathy And Side To The Public
JAKARTA - Commission III of the House of Representatives encourages the formation of a Joint Fact Finding Team (TGPF) to investigate the case of the discovery of Muhammad Farhan Hamid and Reno Sastrawijaya's skeleton at the ACC building, Kwitang, Central Jakarta which caught fire during the demonstration at the end of August 2025. This push is considered to show the empathy and alignment of the council towards the public.
"The push for the formation of the TGPF should be appreciated as a form of the DPR's political responsibility in maintaining legal transparency and accountability," said political communication observer Silvanus Alvin, Wednesday, November 12.
In the context of political communication, Alvin assessed that this step shows the awareness of council members that the public needs clarity and trust, especially after the emergence of various speculations and allegations of irregularities in events that occur in the field.
"In addition, I see that this initiative can also be a means for the DPR to show empathy and partiality to the public interest, not just in the interests of the institution," he said.
According to Alvin, the involvement of cross-institutional elements such as Komnas HAM, KontraS, and academics will strengthen the message that the legal process should not be monopolized by only one institution. However, the biggest challenge lies in independence and follow-up.
"TGPF must be able to work professionally, openly, and produce findings that can be tested by the public. Otherwise, it is at risk of being seen only as a political stage or an attempt to distract," said Alvin.
Alvin emphasized that the transparency followed by consistency is the only way that this step truly restores public trust in the laws and state institutions. He also saw the push for the formation of TGPF as an effort by the DPR to provide input to the Police, especially in the context of reforming the institution.
"I also see that this initiative can also be read as an effort by the DPR to provide positive input to the Police, not to negate the role of the apparatus. The involvement of police elements in the TGPF is actually important to clear the name of the institution and at the same time dismiss negative speculation that is developing in the public," explained Alvin.
Nevertheless, Alvin assessed that the credibility of TGPF members is the main key and cannot be arbitrary. According to him, appointed members must come from independent figures who have an integrity track record and can be trusted by the public.
"The process of appointing and the work of his team should also be opened to the public so that politicization perceptions do not appear. In this way, TGPF can become a healthy bridge between transparency, law enforcement, and responsible public communication," he concluded.

Previously, Member of Commission III of the DPR Abdullah encouraged the formation of a Joint Fact Finding Team (TGPF). This is to thoroughly investigate the case of the discovery of Muhammad Farhan Hamid and Reno Sastrawijaya at the ACC Building, Kwitang, Central Jakarta after the demonstration at the end of August 2025.
Abdullah assessed that the existence of the TGPF was important to answer various alleged irregularities that appeared in the public.
This is because Kontras also highlighted allegations of irregularities in the discovery of the skeleton starting from the time difference between the forensic examination of the building on October 19 and the discovery of the skeleton on October 29, the police conclusion directly linked the skeleton to Farhan and Reno, to the fact that the police line had been removed and CCTV went out before the discovery took place.
"This is certainly a strategic question that must be answered with valid data evidence. I propose the formation of the TGPF of the Farhan and Reno Frameworks, but it was preceded by communicating with the victim's family," Abdullah said, Tuesday (11/11).
Members of the House of Representatives commission in charge of legal affairs think that TGPF needs to be formed by involving various elements. According to Abdullah, this is necessary so that the investigation takes place objectively and thoroughly.
"For example, TGPF consists of police, Komnas HAM, KontraS, Amnesty Indonesia, LPSK, independent forensic institutions from within and outside the country, academics and the media. The hope is that through this TGPF, the investigation process can take place transparently, professionally, and free of conflicts of interest," Abdullah said.
