Aceh Mourns, Nine People Die From COVID-19, TotalIng 524 People
JAKARTA - Aceh's COVID-19 Handling Task Force says nine local provincial residents who were positively infected with the coronavirus have reportedly died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 524.
"Covid-19 patients who died increased by nine people in the last 24 hours," said Aceh COVID-19 Task Force Spokesman Saifullah Abdulgani in Banda Aceh, reported antara, Friday, May 21.
He said the nine people who died were residents from Bireuen and Pidie districts, three people each and three others spread across Central Aceh, West Aceh and Aceh Besar.
In addition to the patients died, Saifullah also mentioned the addition of 176 new cases per day, lower than the addition of new positive cases on Thursday, May 20, which reached 199 people.
Today, he said, the addition of new cases of the most people from Banda Aceh reached 58 people, Pidie 36 people, Aceh Besar 29 people, Lhokseumawe and East Aceh each eight people, Aceh Barat Daya six people and East Aceh five people.
Furthermore, the people of Aceh Tamiang and Gayo Lues are both four people, Langsa, Aceh Jaya and West Aceh two people, Central Aceh, Bireuen, Pidie Jaya and Sabang one person and eight other people outside aceh area.
"This new, increasingly positive case should be an alarm for all of us, that the spread of coronavirus is very high in the community," he said.
He called on the public to make the report on the development of the new case as a step to increase vigilance, protect themselves, families and the environment by implementing health protocols.
