Pursuing The Construction Of 100 Bulog New Warehouses, The Government Prepares A Capai Fund Of IDR 5 Trillion

JAKARTA - The government is speeding up the construction of 100 new warehouses for Perum Bulog to strengthen national food security. This strategic project will be worked on in stages with a total fund of IDR 5 trillion.

This step was emphasized by the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan after witnessing the signing of the Joint Decree (SKB) for the Acceleration of the Implementation of the Provision of Pascapanen Infrastructure at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 11.

The decree was signed by the Minister of Agriculture and Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance Heru Pambudi representing the Minister of Finance, and Head of the BUMN Regulation Agency Dony Oskaria.

Zulhas, as he is familiarly called, said that accelerating the construction of 100 post-harvest warehouses is a priority to anticipate the surge in rice and corn production. The warehouses will be managed by Perum Bulog so that the process of absorbing farmers' crops can be faster.

"We are quick to respond, 100 warehouses will be built so that farmers who are still enthusiastic about planting rice and corn are not disappointed if the results are not handed over quickly," he said at a press conference at the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 11.

The Minister of Agriculture of Trade said the budget prepared by the government to build the 100 warehouses was IDR 5 trillion. However, he did not explain when the construction of the 100 warehouses would be completed.

"(The budget) is IDR 5 trillion. It will be prepared later. Later, we will study it together. The Minister of Agriculture, Bulog, yes. It must be right on target," said Zulhas.

Zulhas said that post-harvest warehouse construction is an important step considering rice production is projected to continue to increase. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), national rice production at the end of 2025 is estimated at 34.77 million tons.

Karena nanti tahun depan akan lebih banyak produksi kita. Belum lahan baru kan, belum irigasi jadi, belum angin superior. Belum sekarang protuk dapat diskon 20 persen. Jadi ini persiapan kemarin kurang, ini 100 baru. Belum cukup lagi 100, tapi ini minimal perlahan lah, tuturnya.
