4 Suspects In The Bilqis Kidnapping Case In Makassar Threatened With 15 Years In Prison
The police arrested four perpetrators of the kidnapping of Bilqis, a 4-year-old boy in Makassar. The four of them were charged with the Child Protection Law and TIP, with a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
The four suspects arrested were SY (30) a resident of Makassar, NH (29) a resident of Sukoharjo, Central Java, and AS (36) and MA (42), both residents of Merangin, Jambi.
"The four suspects were charged with Article 83 in conjunction with Article 76F of the Child Protection Law and/or Article 2 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 17 of the TIP Law, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison," said South Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, Monday 10 November.
The results of the investigation showed SY as the main actor who brought Bilqis from Pakui Park, Jalan Andi Pangerang Pettarani to his boarding house on Jalan Abu Bakar Lambogo, then offered the victim through his Facebook account. NH acted as intermediary, took Bilqis to Jambi via Jakarta and handed it over to the US and MA.
NH admitted that he had been an intermediary for this practice three times. Meanwhile, AS and MA claimed to have traded 9 babies and 1 child through social media," said the regional police chief.
Bilqis was found by the Makassar Polrestabes team led by Iptu Nasrullah and Ipda Supriyadi Gaffar on Saturday (8/11/2025) in Merangin, Jambi. The child was then brought back to Makassar on Sunday (9/11/2025).
Kapolda explained that the victim went missing on November 2, 2025 while playing tennis with her father in Pakui Park. SY handed over the victim to NH for Rp. 3 million, NH sold it to the US and MA for Rp. 15 million, then resold it back to the group in Jambi for Rp. 80 million.

The police confiscated various evidences, including SY's Samsung J1 cellphone, ATM card, IDR 1.8 million in cash, as well as cellphones belonging to NH, AS, and MA. The motive for the perpetrators is economic needs.
Polrestabes Makassar in collaboration with the Directorate of PPO PPA and the Ditreskrimum of the South Sulawesi Police to develop cases and investigate possible links to similar incidents in other locations.
