Thomas Frank Regrets Tottenham Hotspur Vs Manchester United Series Results

JAKARTA - Tottenham Hotspur coach Thomas Frank regrets his team wasted a chance to win over Manchester United in the 2025/2026 Premier League match, Saturday (8/11), which ended in a 2-2 draw.

"Of course it's hard to accept and painful. However, I think our performance is much better than against Chelsea (the previous league game, where Tottenham lost 0-1, ed). We also didn't lose," Frank said, quoted from Tottenham Hotspur's official website in Jakarta, Sunday.

In that match, Tottenham Hotspurgul 2-1 over MU until the end of the match. However, when the referee blew the whistle signaling the game was over, both teams had to share one point because MU defender Matthijs de Ligt was able to equalize in the 90+6 minute.

Frank admitted that he was very happy when his team striker Richarlison was able to bring Tottenham to a 2-1 lead over MU in the 90+1 minute.

That made him so disappointed when MU forced a draw at the last second of the match.

"When you think you've won the game, everyone is happy. Moreover, we play at home. However, that's the beauty of football, sometimes you are on the lucky side, sometimes you don't," said Frank, who is a Danish national.

However, the British tactician praised the performance of his players who did not give up and continued to struggle.

Tottenham were indeed left behind by Manchester United who opened the scoring through Bryan Mbeumo in the 32nd minute.

In the second half, Tottenham scored an equalizer through Mathies Tel(84') and turned things around thanks to Richarlison's goal before finally the game was over with a draw.

"I love how we keep fighting whatever happens. Then we can equalize and that's fantastic. Then we took the lead but conceded again," Frank said.

A draw with Manchester United put Tottenham in fifth place in the Premier League standings this season with 18 points from 11 matches and recorded five wins, three draws and three losses. MU also has the same points and is in eighth position.
