The Natural History Museum Of Abu Dhabi Immediately Opened To The Public

JAKARTA - The Natural History Museum of Abu Dhabi located in Sadadiyat Cultural District, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) will soon be opened to the public.

If nothing changes, the museum, which stretches an area of 35,000 square meters, makes it the largest institution in the region, will open on November 22.

Designed by architectural firm Mecanoo, The Natural History Museum of Abu Dhabi will be home to some of the most distant specimens on the planet.

The galleries will span a journey of 13.8 billion years across space and time, from the start of the universe to a glimpse of the predicted future.

"The opening of the Abu Dhabi Natural History Museum marks an important milestone in our journey to form this emirate cultural landscape," said Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, as reported by The National November 5.

The museum offers a deep view of the story of life on Earth, which is framed for the first time through Arab lenses, with fauna, flora, and geological history of the region being an important part of visitor travel.

"By encouraging engagement with natural science, the Abu Dhabi Natural History Museum inspires future generations and contributes to a more sustainable future," said Al Mubarak.

The museum's leading collection includes Stan's skeleton, the world-famous 11.7-meter Tyrannosaurus rex, one of the predatory fossils of the most preserved and most studied Final Cretaceous period.

Stan will be accompanied by a 25-meter-long female blue whale specimen, which offers insight into marine biodiversity and ongoing evolution.

Another highlight is a specimen of the Murchison meteorite, which fell as rock rain in Australia in 1969 and has since revealed information about the early solar system.

These meteorites contain a variety of extra-terrestrial organic materials. pre-solar compounds and grains formed more than seven billion years ago, long before our solar system formed.

Among the discoveries originating from Abu Dhabi are the endangered elephant species known as Stegotet Elbowo emiratus. As an ancient member of the Elephant's family, this elephant's relative has ivory in his upper and lower jaws, which offers visitors a glimpse of the species' evolutionary journey.

Concisely, this museum will affect a number of galleries and exhibitions. The main gallery includes The Story of Earth, The Evolving World, Our World, Resilient Planet, and Earth's Future.

Among other galleries are The PalaeoLab, The Life Sciences Lab, Arabia's Climate, Beyond the Horizon, and The Human Story.

Visitors can also participate in the Interactive Theater, which offers immersive experiences that take visitors across time.
