National Police Chief: Nearly One Hundred People Become Victims Of Explosions At SMAN 72 North Jakarta

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo conveyed the development of the condition of the explosion victim at SMAN 72 North Jakarta. A total of 96 people became victims in the explosion incident.

During his visit, the National Police Chief was accompanied by the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri and the Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police Susatyo Purnomo Condro. Listyo said as many as 29 people were still undergoing treatment at a number of hospitals (RS).

From the initial number of 96, there are 14 who are still being treated at the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital, at Yarsi Hospital there are 14, and at Pertamina Hospital one person. So a total of 29 people. The rest have gone home and are undergoing outpatient treatment," said the National Police Chief while reviewing the victims at Cempaka Putih Hospital, Saturday 8 November 2025.

Listyo explained, of these, 12 patients were still hospitalized and the other two were in the ICU because they needed special treatment.

Two victims are still being treated in the ICU because they need intensive care. The rest of the conditions are starting to improve," he said.

Furthermore, Listyo said, his party will build a trauma healing center to help the psychological recovery of students and victims. The program is carried out in collaboration with the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), doctors, and psychologists.

"We have prepared this trauma healing center so that children can get psychological services. We are also happy, even though they experienced this incident, their enthusiasm for school remains high," he said.

Listyo added that the support of all parties is needed so that students recover quickly and can return to their normal activities.

"Regarding the trauma, our common task is to encourage them to return to normal," he concluded.
