Melani Writes An Apology Letter, Alludes To Mecimapro's Role In State Foreign Exchange Income

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Melani Citra Utama (Mecimapro), Fransiska Dwi Melani, finally opened his voice after being named a suspect in the alleged embezzlement of TWICE concert investment funds in Jakarta in 2023.

Through a handwritten letter distributed by Mecimapro on Friday, November 7, Melani apologized to various disappointed parties, while voicing her belief in the legal system and the company's contribution to the country's foreign exchange.

Melani started the letter alluding to her long journey as a promoter of the K-Pop music concert from 2010 until she founded Mecimapro in 2015. She acknowledged many mistakes and shortcomings, including the impression of being arrogant and cold, which she called an attempt to cover up her lack of confidence.

"On many occasions, I also may seem arrogant and cold because it covers my lack of confidence," Melani wrote, highlighting her personal side as a lawyer before doing business.

The main point of the letter is an apology to all parties who feel disadvantaged and disappointed by the shortcomings of Mecimapro, be it K-pop fans, business partners, and other parties who have worked together.

Interestingly, in the midst of the company's moderately unfavorable condition, Melani also highlighted Mecimapro's contribution to the country. He conveyed this as a hope to solve legal problems and return to work.

"I believe that the legal system in Indonesia can provide justice for many people and also hope for protection from the relevant Ministries where we have contributed for 10 years as part of the country's foreign exchange income," he said.

This statement seems to open a new perspective in the legal case that ensnared him; efforts to attract the government's attention to the services of the K-Pop entertainment industry, which has been actively bringing in global artists and encouraging the domestic economic turnover.

When this letter was revealed to the public, the alleged fraud and embezzlement of funds that ensnared Fransiska Dwi Melani had entered the case file submission round (Phase II) from Polda Metro Jaya investigators to the South Jakarta District Attorney after being declared complete (P21).

The reporter, PT MIB, accused Melani of abusing investment funds that should have been used for the TWICE concert.

Meanwhile, Melani's legal team in a separate statement insisted that this case was a pure civil dispute, and according to the agreement it should have been resolved through the Indonesian National Arbitration Agency (BANI), not through criminal channels.
