Snap Shares Soar 18 Percent Thanks To AI Partnership Worth IDR 6.6 Trillion With Perplexity
JAKARTA Snap's shares, the owner of the Snapchat app, experienced a drastic spike on November 6, 2025. This spike was triggered by its latest partnership with Perplexity, an Artificial Intelligence Company (AI).
Launching from Reuters, this newly announced partnership is worth 400 million US dollars (Rp 6.6 trillion). It seems that investors are optimistic that Snap can chase its competitors in the AI race so that the company's shares rise to 18 percent.
Through this partnership, the search engine from Perplexity will be integrated directly into Snapchat. That way, Snapchat can be at the forefront as well as fight the dominance of its competitors, such as TikTok already Meta.
Snap CEO Evan Spiegel explained that Perplexity will control the response to user questions via an integrated chatbot within Snapchat. Spiegel insists that the data from this user interaction will not be used for the purpose of selling ads.

The Rp6.6 trillion deal will last for a year. Perplexity will pay Snap through a combination of cash and equity. Revenue from this deal is expected to begin to appear in Snap's financial statements next year.
The surge in stocks was also driven by other news, in which Snap managed to beat analyst estimates for third-quarter revenue. The company also provides fourth-quarter revenue guidance between $1.68 billion and $1.71 billion.
Before this spike occurred, Snap had lost 32 percent of its value. Therefore, partnership with Perplexity is a good start and is expected to reverse Snap's negative trend.
