Police Secure 64 Ammunitions Of Assembled Weapons Handed Over By Poso Residents
The Madago Raya Operations Task Force (Satgas) of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) secured 64 rounds of ammunition and homemade weapons handed over by residents of Poso Pesisir District, Poso Regency.
Kapolsek Poso Pesisir AKP Risdiyanto appreciated the submission of dangerous goods carried out by residents in supporting security stability in the Poso area.
"All of this cannot be separated from the efforts of all parties, especially the Madago Raya Task Force and the Poso Pesisir Police, as well as the community through the appeal of the security and social order that is routinely carried out," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 6.
The Madago Raya Operations Task Force received 64 rounds of 5.56 mm caliber ammunition and two SS1 magazens from residents of Mapane Village. In addition, residents of Masamba Village also handed over two barrels of homemade weapons and one popor of homemade weapons that had tarnished.
He explained that the delivery of ammunition and magazine in Mapane began when a resident was building the kitchen foundation of his house.
The resident then checked the contents of the package and re-calculated all the findings before contacting Bhabinkamtibmas, Mapane Village.
After that, he said, the police immediately moved to the location to secure evidence and take it to the Poso Pesisir Police Headquarters.
The resident found plastic piles mixed with soil under the building. After opening, it contained dozens of ammunition and two weapons magazines that were thought to have been abandoned for a long time," he said.
Meanwhile, he continued, a resident in Masambayang Village was cleaning a warehouse left by his late parents and found a sack hidden under a pile of damaged wood and furniture containing two barrels of homemade weapons.

The Madago Raya Task Force is committed to maintaining security stability in Central Sulawesi, especially in Poso districts.
The police chief also appealed to people who still store hazardous materials or know that they should immediately hand them over to the police to maintain security stability in Poso Regency.
