Trump Plans To Susun Denuclearization Plan With Russia-China

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump said he might plan a denuclearization plan with China and Russia, without providing further details.

"We have reshuffled our nuclear - we are the number one nuclear power, which I unfortunately admit, because this is very terrible," Trump said in a speech at the American Business Forum in Miami.

"Second Russia. China is far in third place, but they will follow us in four or five years," Trump said.

"We may be working on a denuclearization plan, the three of us. We'll see if it works," Trump continued.

China previously stated that US President Donald Trump's request for negotiations on the reduction of nuclear weapons with the US and Russia was unreasonable and unrealistic.

Spokesman for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guo Jiakun, confirmed this in response to Trump's statement claiming to have discussed nuclear arms control with Russian President Vladimir Putin and wanted China to be involved as well.

"The nuclear power of China and the United States is completely unequal, and the strategic security environment and nuclear policies of the two countries are very different," Guo said as quoted by Reuters, Wednesday, August 27.

China implemented a policy of not using nuclear weapons first and a nuclear strategy to defend itself.

Guoo emphasized that Beijing will not engage in the arms race with any other country.

"Nationalities with the largest nuclear arsenal must truly fulfill their special priority responsibilities for the dismantling of nuclear weapons," Guo said.

Trump previously said his intention to discuss denuclearization with Russia and China.

"I think denuclearization is a huge goal, but Russia is willing to do it, and I think China will be willing to do it too. We can't let nuclear weapons breed. We have to stop nuclear weapons. The power is too big," Trump said.

Malaysia's foreign minister said last month China would sign a Southeast Asian agreement banning nuclear weapons in the region as soon as all documents were ready.
