Government Prepares IDR 12 Trillion For Training Candidates For Overseas Workers, DPR Hopes The Program Runs Transparently

Member of Commission X DPR RI, Muhammad Hilman Mufidi responded to the government's plan to prepare a budget of IDR 12 trillion for scholarship programs and training for equivalent high school/vocational high school graduates who want to work abroad. Hilman hopes that the program can run transparently and fairly.

"I hope that the implementation of this program is carried out in a transparent and equitable manner, so that this opportunity is truly felt by young people from various regions, including in remote areas," Hilman told reporters, Thursday, November 6.

Hilman also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the central government, local governments, educational institutions, and the industrial world to ensure that the implementation of the program runs effectively.

According to him, the policy conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) is a strategic step in improving the quality of Indonesia's human resources, especially the younger generation who want to have a career abroad.

"This scholarship program and training are very important. With targeted training, Indonesian prospective workers will have sufficient skills, knowledge, and mentality so that they can compete in the international work market," he said.

The member of the House of Representatives commission in charge of education and culture also considered that the program was in line with the spirit of link and match between the world of education and the world of work.

So far, many high school and vocational graduates are not ready for work due to a lack of practical training. With this program, our graduates can get certification and competence according to global standards," he said.

Hilman assessed that Indonesian workers abroad have great potential when equipped with adequate training. "We not only send workers, but the nation's ambassadors who bring Indonesia's good name. Therefore, improving quality must be a priority," he said.

He also hopes that this scholarship and training program for high school/vocational high school graduates can become a bridge for the younger generation of Indonesia to get better job opportunities abroad.

"At the same time increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian workers in the global arena," he concluded.
