1,464 Joint Personnel Deployed To Secure Labor Action In Front Of The DPR Today
Central Jakarta Metro Police deployed 1,464 joint personnel from the TNI, Polri and DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to guard the demonstration by workers in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building in Senayan.
"We are here to ensure that everything runs safely and conducive," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police Susatyo Purnomo Condro, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 6.
Susatyo said that workers who are members of the Confederation of the Alliance of Indonesian Trade Unions (KASBI) will hold an action in front of the DPR/MPR Building.
The officers who were deployed to guard the action amounted to 1,464 joint personnel from both the TNI, Polri and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov).
In addition, demonstrations were also held at a number of points in Central Jakarta carried out by student alliances taking place in the Monas area and also the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
"For those in front of the DPR/MPR, there are 1,464 personnel, while at other points there are 734 personnel," he said.
Susatyo asked the masses to hold an action in a peaceful and orderly manner. In addition, the masses are prohibited from burning tires, destroying public facilities or closing roads.
"Please express your opinion, but remain in the corridor of law and order," he said.
Regarding the traffic diversion scenario, it is situational in nature. However, residents are advised to avoid the DPR area during the action and are advised to use alternative routes.
"We ask for the understanding of the community. Safety and comfort together are our priorities," said Susatyo.

Susatyo also appealed to the public not to be easily consumed by hoaxes circulating on social media (medsos) and information that could potentially trigger a commotion.
"Security officers do not carry firearms and serve residents who express their opinions humanely and professionally," he said.
