Adam Damiri Attends First Trial Of Review Of The Asabri Case Tomorrow

JAKARTA - The inaugural hearing for the Review (PK) proposed by Major General (Ret.) Adam Rachmat Damiri regarding the corruption case in the management of PT Asabri (Persero) funds will be held at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN), Thursday, October 6. Cases registered with number 17/Akta.Pid.Sus/PK/TK/2025/PN JKT.PST.

"Pak Adam Damiri will be present at the trial directly," said Adam Damiri's attorney, Deolipa Yumara in a written statement, Wednesday, November 5.

Deolipa said his client would depart from the Sukamiskin Penitentiary (Lapas), Bandung, to the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday morning. The trial was held at around 10:00 WIB.

"This is a form of moral responsibility as well as his determination to fight for the truth," he said.

In addition, Deolipa explained, this legal step is important because Adam Damiri is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence in the Asabri case after the Supreme Court's cassation-level decision.

"At the age of 76 years, punishment is equivalent to the death penalty. But his spirit is extraordinary, he still wants to fight through legal channels," he said.

Adam Damiri's team of attorneys registered the PK application to the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday, October 16. This step is to prove he is innocent and never enrich himself in the case.

A number of new evidences were also prepared in this legal effort. Among them are financial reports, minutes of the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS), account evidence, and Asabri's dividend records which showed the company's financial condition actually increased during Adam Damiri's 2012 '2016 leadership.

"Financial reports audited by the Public Accounting Office and approved by the BPK showed Asabri's revenue rose from Rp1.56 trillion in 2011 to Rp4.16 trillion in 2015, with an Unqualified Opinion or WTP. There were no findings of misuse of funds," explained Deolipa.

Account evidence also shows that there is no flow of funds from Asabri to Adam Damiri's personal accounts or his family.

"Transactions that are said to be of personal benefit actually occur after he retires and are the return of personal debt from other parties," said Deolipa.

"We hope that the Panel of Judges of the PK will truly read and assess with conscience all these new findings, for the sake of justice for Mr. Adam Damiri, who is 76 years old and has served decades for the country," concluded the lawyer.
