The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Will Submit The Results Of A Corruption Investigation To Prabowo
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that the investigation into the alleged corruption of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project continued. The findings of the criminal acts obtained will later be submitted to President Prabowo Subianto.
"So if the results of the investigation are indeed indicated that there is sufficient evidence of a criminal act of corruption, we will convey it," said KPK Deputy Chair Johanis Tanak to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, November 5.
Johanis explained that the current investigation is still looking for corruption. "If nothing, it will be finished," he said.
"If there is, we can also convey to the president, this is an act that is qualified as a criminal act of corruption," continued Johanis.
Hostsh serves the Jakarta-Bandung route with a length of 142.3 kilometers with a travel time of about 30'45 minutes and operates since October 2023 after being inaugurated by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi). This project is a collaboration between the Indonesian government and China.
The project value at that time was only targeted at 5.13 billion US dollars or around Rp. 82.08 trillion. However, this figure swelled by 1.2 billion US dollars to 7.27 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 115 trillion assuming the US dollar exchange rate was Rp. 16 thousand.
Previously reported, information on the investigation into the alleged corruption of the Jakarta 'Bandung high-speed rail project, closed-up was initially conveyed by the Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur.
"Currently it is at the investigation stage," said Asep when confirmed by VOI, Monday, October 27.
