Riau Governor PKB Cadre Affected By KPK OTT, Cak Imin: Becomes Learning

Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) said the arrest of Riau Governor Abdul Wahid who is also a cadre of the party by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is a lesson so that it does not happen again.

"Yes, everyone must learn from experience so that it doesn't happen again," said Cak Imin at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 5.

He conveyed that until now there has been no request for legal assistance from the person concerned to the party he leads

Regarding Abdul Wahid's status at PKB, Cak Imin said that there would be an internal process that would be carried out according to the organizational mechanism.

"There will definitely be an internal process," he said.

Cak Imin did not provide further information regarding the possibility of Abdul Wahid's dismissal from the party's membership.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named Riau Governor Abdul Wahid as a suspect in a suspected corruption case related to extortion within the Riau Provincial Government for the 2025 fiscal year.

Apart from Wahid, the KPK also named two other people as suspects, namely MAS as Head of the Riau Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, Settlement and Land Areas (PUPRPKPP), as well as Expert Staff of the Governor of Riau Province.

The three suspects are suspected of violating Article 12e and/or Article 12f and/or Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
