Veterans Stars, Ronaldo And Messi, Still Fighting About The Best Claims In The World

JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo reiterated his belief that he is a better footballer than Lionel Messi.

"Is Messi better than me? I don't agree. I don't want to be humble," Ronaldo said in an interview with Piers Morgan.

The interview clip is shown as a snippet of the full interview that will be released in the near future.

During a tense period between 2008 and 2017, Messi and Ronaldo monopolized the Ballon d'Or at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

Their performance redefined this sport and sparked a relentless debate about who is the greatest in the world of all time.

Ronaldo has won five Champions League titles compared to Messi's four titles. However, the five Ballon d'Or titles are nothing compared to Messi's eight trophies.

In addition to the achievements of their club, both of them have also brought their country to glory on the world stage. Ronaldo led Portugal to the 2016 Euro title, while Messi brought Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who is now defending Al Nassr (Saudi Pro League), is on his way to a record 1,000 goals in an official competitive match in his career. Currently, the Portuguese has scored 952 goals, after his two latest goals against Al Feiha in the league.

If he manages to reach 1,000 goals then the record is difficult for Messi to match. So far, the record claims are held by Pele and Romario, but both have scored goals from friendly matches.
