It's SYL's Child's Turn, Kemal Redindo Is Examined By The KPK Regarding Allegations Of Money Laundering

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned 16 witnesses related to the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU) of the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL today, November 5. One of them is Kemal Redindo Syahrul Putra, who is the son of the former regional head.

"The examination was carried out at the South Sulawesi BPK office," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, November 5.

Apart from Kemal, investigators also summoned other witnesses Rizal Tandiawan, Amir Wongsari, Muh. Harun Bin Gani, Nurhayati Gani, Nurhaliah Gani, Ridwan Nawing, Eddy Satir Hasan, Abdul Rahman Said, Saldi Nurjaffia Ichsan, and Lutfi Halides who are private parties.

Then also called by the private sector named Muh. Yusuf Sommeng, Andi Facchrysyam, Taba Yusarif, Widartiningsih, and Panji Iswandi who are PPAT.

It has not been detailed about the material for the examination. However, the 16 witnesses are suspected of knowing about the money laundering resulting from extortion and gratuities carried out by SYL.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, November 4, investigators also questioned Ulie Ayun Sri Syahrul, who is the wife of SYL and GM Media Radio Prambors or PT Bayureksa, Dhirgaraya S. Santo. However, the anti-corruption commission has not detailed the results of the examination.

As for the trial of the SYL extortion and gratification case, Kemal was said to have asked for Rp111 million for the payment of his car accessories. This testimony was conveyed by the Head of the General Section (Kabag) of the Directorate General (Ditjen) Perkebunan, Ministry of Agriculture Sukim Supandi.

Not only that, Sukim also said that Kemal Redindo had asked for Rp 200 million for room renovation costs.

Then, it was also revealed that the Ministry of Agriculture was also said to have borne the cost of circumcision the Kemal child. This was conveyed by the Head of the Household Section of the General Bureau and Procurement of the Ministry of Agriculture Abdul Hafidh who was presented as a witness at the trial on April 29, 2024.

However, Hafidh forgot how much the Ministry of Agriculture gave the nominal funds for the purpose of the circumcision. However, he ensured that SYL's grandson's circumcision costs did not reach hundreds of millions.

Then, the cost of the Kemal child's birthday is also said to be borne by the Ministry of Agriculture. All these requests were conveyed through former SYL aide, Panji Hartanto and his aide, Aliandri.

As previously reported, the former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo is currently a suspect in alleged money laundering. This step was taken after the development of cases of extortion and acceptance of gratuities that had been convicted by the Jakarta Corruption Court.

A number of assets allegedly purchased by Syahrul from corruption have been confiscated by the KPK. Among them are a white Mitsubishi Sport Dakar hidden in an empty land in the Makassar area, South Sulawesi.

Recently, SYL has been sent to the Sukamiskin Penitentiary (Lapas), Bandung, West Java. He will serve a 12-year prison sentence for guilt in cases of extortion and acceptance of gratuities at the Ministry of Agriculture.

SYL was also sentenced to pay a fine of IDR 500 million, subsidiary to four months in prison plus compensation of IDR 44,269,777,204 and 30 thousand US dollars, subsidiary to five years in prison.
