Luis Enrique Confused PSG Easily Giving Bayern Munich Many Opportunities

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique criticized his team for giving Bayern Munich a goal and saying they should have lost more than 1-2 in the Champions League match, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, early morning WIB.

It was the first defeat the reigning champion in the tournament after four games and the overall second defeat of the season. On the other hand, Bayern Munich recorded their 16th straight win in all competitions.

Bayern Munich's first goal came after four minutes and the second goal was scored in the 32nd minute. Both were made by Colombian striker Luis Diaz before he was sent off at the end of the first half for his hard tackle against Achraf Hakimi.

"At 11 against 11, there is no doubt. Of course, they were superior to us in the first half."

"They created more chances and we gave them some beautiful gifts in the first half."

"When you give a player such a gift, they will score. I'm not looking for excuses, it's our responsibility to play better," said Luis Enrique.

He was further confused about why his team lost, especially in the first round which was one-sided.

"I don't have an explanation, it's like that. We gave some prizes. They scored two goals, but they should have scored four goals."

"I'm disappointed to see this because I hope to see a better level," he said.

PSG have been plagued by injuries this season and striker Ousmane Dembele and right-back Hakimi - who were recklessly violated by Diaz - had to leave the field due to injury in the first half.

Luis Enrique feels he should be better at dealing with the club's ongoing injury situation. PSG also without the injured striker Desire Doue.

"When you get the injured players back, they're not 100 percent. This is something I should have handled much better (as coaches), given all my experience," he said.
