Even Though They Are Healthy! But 95 Percent Of Indonesian Adults Are Still Lazy To Move
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) noted that 50.5 million people throughout Indonesia had participated in the Free Health Check (CKG) program until the end of October 2025.
However, from this huge achievement, worrying findings emerged: 95.8 percent of adults are still lacking in physical activity.
The achievement of more than 50.5 million participants is an important milestone for national health efforts. However, CKG data warns seriously that physical activity and a healthy lifestyle must be increasingly a common priority," said Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 5.
Of the total participants, 34.3 million people participated in the general CKG, while 16.2 million participants came from the school.
Budi explained, in adult groups, the problem of lack of physical activity was followed by dental caries (41.9 percent), central obesity (32.9 percent), and overweight and obesity (24.4 percent).
"These findings confirm that non-communicable diseases are still a major threat to productive groups," he said.
According to Budi, CKG is not just a mass examination activity, but a strategic instrument for early detection of diseases so that they can be handled more quickly. With early detection and treatment, the risk of catastrophic diseases, defects, and deaths can be suppressed.
"This program is not only a matter of the number of participants, but how we will use the results to strengthen policies, health services, and interventions in the community," he said.
Findings In Various Age Groups
The results of CKG also reveal health problems in various age groups.
Newborn babies: 18.6 percent risk of bile duct disorder, 6.1 percent low birth weight, and 5.5 percent critical congenital heart disease.
Toddlers and preschoolers: 31.5 percent unhealthy teeth, 5.3 percent stunting, and 3.8 percent wasted.
Teenagers and students: less than 60.1 percent of physical activity, 50.3 percent of dental caries, 27.2 percent of anemia.
Elderly: lack of physical activity 96.7 percent, hypertension 37.7 percent.
Budi emphasized that this result will be used to strengthen health policies and promote a healthy lifestyle in the future.
"We want the community not only to recover from disease, but to be able to maintain their health in a sustainable manner," he said.
