Jake Paul's Duel Against Gervonta Davis Canceled

JAKARTA The exhibition fight between Jake Paul and lightweight world champion Gervonta Davis was officially canceled.

The news was announced by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the promoter that oversees Paul, just days after Davis was sued by his ex-girlfriend for alleged physical violence and kidnapping.

The clash, which is scheduled to take place on November 14, 2025 in Miami, is the main event in an event that will be broadcast live via Netflix.

However, MVP ensured the duel would not continue after conducting an internal investigation.

"Our team has teamed up with all parties to deal with this situation responsibly," said the CEO and founder of MVP, Nakisa Bidarian, in a statement reported by BBC Sport.

The cancellation of this fight made Jake Paul express his disappointment through his X (Twitter) account. He called cooperation with Davis a nightmare.

"I apologize to all parties involved, especially the undercard boxers, the MVP team, and the entire crew who have worked hard to prepare for this match," Paul wrote.

Davis was sued by Courtney Rossel, her ex-lover. He accused the world champion of attacking her at work on October 27, 2025.

Rossel also claims that Davis has threatened his life and committed at least four times of physical violence and strangulation long before, which has left him with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The case comes just two months after another domestic violence case against Davis was lifted by a different ex-lover.

Davis has a lengthy legal track record, including two arrests in 2020 on charges of domestic violence and 44 days in prison in 2023 for violating house arrest rules in the 2020 hit-and-run case.

The Paul vs Davis fight attracted public attention because it brought together two boxers from different classes. Davis is much smaller than Paul, who is much bigger physically.

Despite fighting Davis canceled, MVP ensures Jake Paul will still appear as the main match in Netflix's exclusive event at the end of this year.
