Riau Governor Again Netted OTT, KPK: Provincial Government Must Be Serious In Cleaning Up!
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded the Riau Provincial Government to clean up after its governor, Abdul Wahid, was caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Monday, November 3.
This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo when asked about the Riau Governor who was caught in a corruption case other than Abdul Wahid. They are Saleh Jazit as Governor of Riau for the period 1998-2003; Rusli Zainal as Governor of Riau for the period 2003-2008 and 2008-2013; and Anas Maamun as Governor of Riau for the 2014-2019 period.
"We also express our concern because it is important for local governments, especially in the Riau Provincial Government, to be more serious about making improvements," Budi told reporters, Wednesday, November 5.
Budi said that the improvements that must be made are related to government governance. He said the KPK was ready to provide assistance in the process.
"We went to the field to identify which sectors still have high risks. The KPK then gave recommendations for improvements to local governments, including the KPK also made measurements through an integrity assessment survey," he said.
Previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Riau Province on Monday, November 3. There were 10 people who were arrested at that time and there was Rp1.6 billion in cash in rupiah denominations, US dollars to Poundsterling.

Later, nine people were taken by the KPK to undergo examination. Meanwhile, one person surrendered after a search was carried out by a team in the field.
