Facing Persebaya, Persik Uses Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium In Gresik

JAKARTA - Week 12 of the 2025/2026 Super League schedules Persik Kediri to host Persebaya Surabaya. However, for that match, the White Tigers were forced to shift from home and chose the Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium in Gresik as a replacement venue.

The chairman of the Kediri Persik Implementing Committee, Tri Widodo, explained the reasons behind the shift in the location of the match against Persebaya. He said that this was related to security permits from the police.

"Because they did not get a security permit from the Kediri City Police, it is very unfortunate that Persik Kediri had to play outside Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri City," Tri Widodo was quoted as saying by Antara on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

With the final decision, Tri actually regretted the condition that Persik had to play outside the cage. The reason is, currently the White Tiger Squad needs full support in order to get back on track positively.

"Actually, it is very unfortunate considering that Persik Kediri is currently in need of the full support of Persikmania supporters to be able to raise the motivation of players and coaches, as well as get maximum points against Persebaya Surabaya," said Tri.

The certainty regarding the location of the Persik vs Persebaya match was stated in the latest Super League circular signed by the Director of Competition I-League, Asep Saputra.

Initially, this match was scheduled to take place at the Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri City. However, security recommendations did not go down so Persik Kediri management had to look for a replacement venue.

Based on the results of the coordination meeting of the Brawijaya Stadium risk assessment at the Kediri City Police, the Super League continued match did not get approval to be held at Persik's home.

The reason is that the stadium's feasibility rate is only 42.8 percent, where that number is below the minimum threshold of 60 percent for holding league competition matches.

Apart from the venue for the match that moved to Gresik, the time for the Persik vs Persebaya match to be on schedule, which was November 7, 2025 at 19.00 WIB.
