175 COVID-19 Reactive Travelers, Pangdam: Sent To Athletes' Guesthouse

JAKARTA - Commander Kodam (Pangdam) Jaya Maj. Gen. Dudung Abdurachman said, 175 travelers who have reactive test results have been sent to the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, to be isolated.

Dudung said that his party together with The Police of Metro Jaya tried to anticipate positive cases from travelers by conducting antigen tests, both on the road and at the village level, RT / RW where the travelers live.

"With their awareness, it has been doing antigen gradually and has now netted 175 people in Tower 4 and Tower 5," Dudung said while visiting RSDC Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Central Jakarta, reported antara, Thursday.

Dudung explained that travelers are required to bring a COVID-19 check certificate with negative results, both at the arrival gate and at their residence.

Residents who did homecoming had previously been affixed with stickers in their homes by local RT. That way, arriving in Jakarta, they are required to conduct antigen tests.

Based on the data of the Joint Command of the Defense Region, the number of inpatients in Wisma Atlet as of Thursday, May 20, amounted to 1,028 people. This number increased compared to Monday, May 17, as many as 929 people.

Currently, the availability of beds in Wisma Atlet is still around 17.5 percent of the total capacity.

Even so, anticipation becomes important to do, considering the moment of long holiday is usually followed by an increase in the number of patients, both in Wisma Atlet and hospitals throughout Indonesia.

"In anticipation, we prepare Tower 5 because the rest of the 'bed' is still quite a lot, but we anticipate also Tower 8, 9 and 10 in Pademangan because there has also been a surge in September and January," dudung said.
