RTA was found dead in the Pasar Minggu area, South Jakarta, some time ago. The RTA family reported allegations of child exploitation.
However, RTA's older brother (14) decided to withdraw the report made at the South Jakarta Metro Police regarding the alleged exploitation of RTA.
"On October 13, the reporter, in this case the victim's brother, also sent a letter to investigators that the report was withdrawn because there was peace between the victim and the reporter," said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly.
Nicolas does not know for sure the reason why RTA's brother decided to withdraw the report. It is not yet known whether the investigation into the case will continue or not. However, the police will be guided by Perkap Number 8 of 2001.
"We can't be sure whether it's continued or not. We will stick to the applicable law and the SOP that applies to the police. Because there are conditions, this case can be resolved by RJ (restorative justice) or not," he said.
