OKU BPBD Will Build Talud On Longsor Road In Peninjauan Village

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra next year is targeting the construction of a talud on a landslide in Peninjauan Village, Peninjauan District.

Head of BPBD OKUJanuar Efendi through Pusdalops Gunalfi Manager in Baturaja, Sunday, said that the ring road in Peninjauan Village collapsed after being hit by flash floods in May 2024.

"Because it was not strong enough to hold back the Ogan River continuously, the road wall has now collapsed again along 150 meters," he said.

According to him, the condition of the road has been surveyed and the proposed repair has been submitted to the central government through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).

"The road has been surveyed and verified by the BNPB to determine the extent of the damage," he said.

He explained that on the ring road in Peninjau Village, a wall retaining talud will be built to make it stronger against the Ogan River's water discharge.

The improvement itself, he continued, will use rehabilitation and reconstruction grants sourced from BNPB.

"Now it has entered the stage of making detailed engineering design (DED). Hopefully, in early 2026 development projects will begin to be carried out," he said.
