Misuse Of Stay Permit, Foreigner Ivory Coast Deported Pangkalpinang Immigration

JAKARTA - The Class I Immigration Office of TPI Pangkalpinang in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel) deported a foreign national (WNA) from Ivory Coast for being proven to have abused his residence permit in Indonesian territory.

"Kone Kalou was deported through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on the Jakarta Istanbul - Abidjan flight route," said Head of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Pangkalpinang Ahmad Khumaidi in Pangkalpinang, Sunday, as reported by Antara.

He said this case originated from local media information that reported Kone Kalou's involvement in a football tournament in West Bangka Regency.

Following up on this, the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team (Inteljakim) immediately carried out direct supervision at Gelora Muntok Field and coordinated with the soccer team committee and officials who used the services of foreign players.

"We moved quickly after receiving information from the public and the media. The results of supervision in the field proved that the person concerned played in the semifinal match on June 24, 2025 and received a fee of Rp. 3,500,000 per match," he said.

He stated that based on the results of the clarification, it was known that Kone Kalou had a Limited Stay Permit as an investor at PT. Futa Diallo International, but in reality he works as a football player. In addition, the address of the registered residence is also not in accordance with the actual condition.

Kone Kalou then fulfilled the summons for examination on October 27, 2025 and acknowledged all his activities. From the results of the examination, the person concerned was proven to have violated Article 75 paragraph (1) and (2) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, namely carrying out activities that were not in accordance with the intent and purpose of granting residence permits.

"Strict action in the form of Immigration Administrative Actions (TAK) we drop in the form of deportation and inclusion in the deterrence list, in accordance with applicable legal provisions," he said.

He stated that Kone Kalou was deported through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on the Jakarta Istanbul - Abidjan flight route, using Turkish Airlines with flight number TK 0057 to Istanbul followed by Turkish Airlines TK 0555 to Abidjan.

"We will not tolerate misuse of residence permits in any form. Every foreigner must obey the rules and objectives of the granted residence permit. We will continue to increase supervision of the activities of foreigners, in order to maintain the order, security, and sovereignty of the country," he stressed.

The Pangkalpinang Immigration Office also appealed to the entire community to play an active role in providing information if they know of alleged immigration violations in their environment.

"Synergy between the apparatus and society is the key in creating an orderly and conducive immigration climate in the Bangka Belitung Islands," he said.
